Job Summary:
- Implement, manage and monitor existing network
- Define scope, acquire, install, and maintain hardware and software associated with local and wide area networks
- Make comprehensive recommendations in areas that can be improved and test network procedures on a scheduled basis
- Support network systems in a 24/7 environment ensuring stability, security and optimal performance
- Troubleshoot multi-platform / multi-vendor issues, determining scope, problem identification and resolution
- Directs installation, configuration and maintenance of multi-site network and equipment
- Monitor and manage remediation of network vulnerabilities and faults
- Maintain and promote IT corporate security policies including support for VPN and wireless networks.
- Assist in the development and implementation of network policies and standards
- Keep abreast of new technologies and suggest their application where appropriate.
- Prioritize effective use of IT resources and competing needs in an active support environment
- Meets financial requirements by submitting information for budgets; monitoring expenses
- Works directly with end users to evaluate and solve technical problems, often over the phone or using remote control software
- Maintain and service the local VOIP phone system including deployment and replacement of phone hardware and supporting software
- Act as single point of contact for network service and maintenance calls
- Provide user training for other IT staff and end users
- Administers system backups, recovery, and verification at all schools
- Document all services rendered via a ticketing system, for scheduling, time tracking, and issue tracking
- Administers network backups, recovery, and verification at sites
- Demonstrates personal initiative to maintain good communication and follow-up with users
- Support with helpdesk tasks as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Proficiencies:
Platform Switches, Routers and Firewalls
Wireless Technology – 802.11a/b/g/n/a/ac
Windows Server, 2008R2 and 2012R2
Ability to learn and understand non-network systems used throughout the company and be able to integrate those systems into existing and/or new environments.
Education and Experience
Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology; or equivalent
2+ years of experience in network administration
CCNA or equivalent skill set
